The bets are gathered into a central pot, and the winning hand is determined.
In poker games with a higher betting limit, each player must place a certain number of chips in the pot before the cards are dealt. The highest possible hand is a straight flush, which is 5 cards in the same suit. The lowest is a pair of aces.
A wild card can be used to make a five-of-a-kind. A player who has two fours of the same rank wins the pot if a third card of the same rank breaks a tie. If two fours of a different rank are not tied, the high card outside that group wins. This is sometimes known as a royal flush.
